International comparison of green electricity products

Content

The expansion of renewable energies is often supported through government subsidies, in Germany for example through the Renewable Energies Act (EEG). However, since this support is limited in time and is encountering more and more acceptance problems, the effective marketing of renewable energies - e.g. green electricity - is becoming increasingly important. In the past, research has focused on consumer preferences for green electricity, i.e. on the demand side. In our analysis, however, we look at the supply side: In a content analysis, we compare the green electricity offers in the UK, Germany, France and Italy.  For this purpose, we have analysed a total of almost 180 websites of green electricity products. The results have already been published.
