MBA International Management students explore industry and sustainability at Roto Frank

Published at |

Just two weeks into their studies, first- and second-semester students of the MBA International Management programme visited Roto Frank in Leinfelden. The visit offered insights into highly automated manufacturing, the application of artificial intelligence, and the company’s sustainability strategy.

The visit began with a welcome from the company’s Human Resources team. The students also had the opportunity to meet Anmol Sharma, an MBA International Management alumnus originally from India who has been working at Roto Frank for three years. During his studies, he gained practical experience as a working student and completed his master’s thesis in collaboration with the company. Today, his work includes exploring the application of artificial intelligence within the business. His career path provided a valuable example of how academic studies and practical experience can complement each other and lead to professional opportunities.

During a guided tour of the production facilities, the students gained insights into the highly automated manufacturing of window and door systems. They learned more about the operational processes and technologies behind the products, gaining a first-hand understanding of industrial production.

The second part of the visit focused on sustainability. Daniel Zähringer presented Roto Frank’s sustainability strategy and outlined the company’s approaches and objectives in this area. During a subsequent workshop, the students were invited to develop and share their own ideas and suggestions. Coming from different countries, they contributed diverse international perspectives and discussed possible approaches to sustainable business development.

The visit demonstrated the value of combining academic knowledge with practical experience and international exchange. It also gave students the opportunity to learn about career opportunities, establish professional contacts, and gain a deeper understanding of the challenges companies face today.

We would like to thank Roto Frank for its hospitality, the valuable insights, and the engaging discussions.
