NGU students give particularly high marks for the criteria “general study environment,” course organization, and library facilities. However, the support provided by faculty, the course offerings in each field of study, and the focus on career and practical orientation also score well.
Regarding the general framework conditions of the program, the CHE ranking places all of the evaluated bachelor’s programs at NGU in the top tier or in the middle range of universities. Among other things, the aspects “contact with professional practice,” “international orientation,” and “support at the start of studies” were examined here. NGU President Professor Dr. Andreas Frey sees the ranking as confirmation that the university is on the right track: “NGU remains among the top tier of German universities. This confirms the university’s rankings from recent years.”
In total, around 35,000 students at 265 universities and universities of applied sciences (HAW) provided feedback on their study conditions as part of the survey, which took place during the 2025/26 winter semester. The ranking is conducted by the Center for Higher Education Development (CHE) in cooperation with the weekly magazine DIE ZEIT.
