Content:

In this module, students acquire knowledge, skills, and competencies in vegetation planning, plant use, and open space maintenance.

Vegetation Planning:

  • Understand goals, functions, and special conditions of high-quality vegetation areas

  • Apply design methods and typologies

  • Analyze plantings and their structures

  • Identify planning, execution, and maintenance errors

  • Develop planting designs for areas with varying maintenance levels, integrating design, planning, and care requirements

Plant Use:

  • Recognize plant types for high-quality and climate-adapted vegetation

  • Understand design, planning, maintenance, site, and construction requirements

  • Assess opportunities, limitations, and risks of plant use

  • Make informed plant selection decisions

Open Space Maintenance:

  • Understand methods and objectives of green space management

  • Develop maintenance plans using facility and green space management techniques

  • Apply appropriate tools and equipment

Students gain practical experience in documenting, analyzing, and designing planting plans, including trees, shrubs, perennials, and ferns for diverse urban and open spaces.
