This module consists of two integrated courses: Artistic Practice V and Art History I.

Artistic Practice V - this course supports the refinement of each student’s individual artistic process through professional use of materials and media, independent research, conceptual planning, and experimental approaches. Group discussions and detailed artwork analyses strengthen critical reflection and dialogue skills.

Art History I  (part 1) - this course provides an introduction to the fundamental principles of nineteenth-century art history. It examines artistic works within their social, historical, and biographical contexts, emphasizing the relationship between artistic production and broader cultural and intellectual developments of the period. Particular attention is given to artistic movements and developments that are especially relevant to the field of art therapy. The course further develops skills in the visual analysis of artworks and their critical verbal articulation, fostering an art-historical understanding of visual language and imagery. Art History I is structured in two parts: one component is offered within the module Art Specialization III, and the second component within the module Artistic Self-Positioning. Both modules must be taken concurrently within the same semester.
