This module consists of the two courses: Artistic Practice VI and Art History I

Artistic Practice VI focuses on the targeted continuation and the content-related and formal refinement of each student’s individual artistic process. It emphasizes the professional use of materials and media within artistic work and the ability to communicate and convey personal artistic approaches and self-developed methods. Students are encouraged to reflect upon and articulate their own artistic practice within the context of contemporary artistic concepts, and to represent their work in a differentiated and informed manner. The course also develops the ability to present one’s artistic work appropriately in both visual and written form, and to engage competently in dialogue within the artistic discourse.

Art History I (part 2) - this course provides an introduction to the fundamental principles of nineteenth-century art history. It examines artistic works within their social, historical, and biographical contexts, emphasizing the relationship between artistic production and broader cultural and intellectual developments of the period. Particular attention is given to artistic movements and developments that are especially relevant to the field of art therapy. The course further develops skills in the visual analysis of artworks and their critical verbal articulation, fostering an art-historical understanding of visual language and imagery. Art History I is structured in two parts: one component is offered within the module Art Specialization III, and the second component within the module Artistic Self-Positioning. Both modules must be taken concurrently within the same semester.

The catalog must be submitted by the end of the winter semester. Submission is mandatory.
